Sebastian "Buss" Amato was born to Charles and Palma Amato on October 7, 1913; he was one of nine children.
Sebastian was a loyal, hard-working man who believed family came first. He was proud of his Italian heritage and found a young lady, Theresa Tirabasso, to share his life, along with the strong family values he held in such high regard. Sebastian and Therese married on January 11,1936 and had three children; the eldest daughter is my mother, Rosemarie. I, too, am the eldest of three girls and was "Grandpa's Little Girl." Grandpa Buss shared one of his many encouraging lessons in life with me at an early age, "You could do anything you put your mind to — just believe in yourself!"
I always remembered his words of wisdom and in 2004, I dedicated Sebastian's on the Square to my grandfather and inspiration, Sebastian Amato.
Sebastian considered mealtime a perfect place for sharing and enjoying his family, along with a homemade Italian meal. Sebastian's on the Square is known for our authentic Italian cuisine, just the way Grandpa Buss would have liked it — homemade with love!
